New Lifetime Membership Policy Adopted by ACC Membership
The ACC Lifetime Membership Taskforce, chaired by Cantor Deborrah C. Buchman, recommended to the ACC Board of Directors and Membership of the Conference the following new policy for lifetime ACC membership. Committee members are Cantors Gail Hirschenfang, Laura Crohn, Marcy Kadin, Faryn Rudnick, and Juval Porat.
Lifetime membership will be awarded to an ACC cantor when both of the following conditions have been met: a. The cantor has been an ACC member in good standing for no less than 40 years; and b. The cantor is retired from full-time work. Additional Stipulations include that no dues will be refunded should the cantor work beyond 40 years.
The task force feels that the above-mentioned conditions should be the only qualifying criteria for obtaining ACC Lifetime Membership. Upon reaching the lifetime membership milestone, the ACC member will be exempt from any future association dues.
To provide meaningful and appropriate recognition of this honorific milestone to new lifetime members, we recommend: 1. Increased communication to membership regarding this special category; 2. Honoring new lifetime members at convention; 3. Acknowledging new lifetime members in all our publications; 4. Having personal outreach from the ACC before and upon reaching this milestone.
Lifetime membership for those meeting the criteria will awarded at the conclusion of the 2026-27 fiscal year with dues being waived beginning in the 2027-28 fiscal year.
