"Whoever practices charity and justice fills the world with loving kindness" - Talmud; Sukkah

We are excited to join many of you at the next ACC/GTM Convention, June 25-29, 2017 at Red Rock Resort Spa and Casino in Summerlin, NV. Inspired by combining Las Vegas' reputation with our own musical twist, the motto of this year's convention is "Ir HaShir: Sing City!" What happens in Vegas won't stay in Vegas!

Our Convention team promises opportunities for professional growth and development for our members. We are committed to providing exceptional learning sessions, while offering meaningful programming and various opportunities for our members to share and connect. This year we will envision a reinterpretation of traditional Jewish music that continues to unfold through the diverse experiences of the Reform Movement. Our members will reunite with colleagues and master teachers from HUC-JIR, DFSSM.  In this collaborative model, each day of the conference will build upon sacred traditions, while integrating the newest and most successful Jewish musical trends and practices in our movement.

We are excited to announce the following Scholars-in-Residence for the 2017 ACC/GTM Convention:

  • Merri Lovinger Arian
  • Cantor Beny Maissner
  • Cantor Jacob Mendelson
  • Joyce Rosenzweig

Along with our scholars, we can eagerly anticipate additional educational opportunities, concerts, communal meals, leisure activities and collegial fellowship.  As you know, planning and executing high quality conventions requires hard work, dedication, and, yes, funding. We are all familiar with the need for fundraising in our synagogues to bridge the gap between membership dues and operating expenses, and the same applies here as well. We therefore look to you, our partners in this work, to share in the challenge of securing funding for another outstanding convention.

We hope you will take advantage of the chance to support your own spiritual growth, continuing education and professional development. Maybe your resources lie in your discretionary fund or perhaps a special donor from your congregation or community. Please take a look at the attached opportunities to sponsor a meal, a program, a scholar, or some other convention activity. There is also an ever-present need to defray the costs of attendance for those of our colleagues who do not enjoy healthy convention allowances or even full-time salaries, and who depend upon the contributions of our more fortunate members to make their attendance possible.

Please consider participating at any level either as a sponsor or with a contribution to our scholarship fund. If you have any questions, concerns or ideas please do not hesitate to contact us. We look forward to joining with you in this sacred effort!

B'shirah,
