Israel in Depth

-

Dear Reform Israel Leaders,

We are excited to launch “Israel in Depth,” a Reform Day of Learning on Sunday, May 17th! As committed leaders, we invite you to join us for this North America-wide virtual training experience for the Reform Movement. This half-day training (12:00 p.m.- 5:00 p.m. ET| 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. PT) was developed for this moment to address the challenges and responsibilities facing the Jewish community in a post-October 7th world.

This is a critical opportunity for congregational lay leaders and professionals, to hear from experts, to ask big questions, and to connect with others who are working in similar spaces.

During this experience, our experts, educators, and presenters, will offer workshops that address Israel education, Israeli- Palestinian relationships, Reform Movement partnerships, Organizing/Advocacy, and Thought Leadership on Israel, Zionism, and Jewish Peoplehood.

Hear from diverse voices including:

  • Rachel Goldberg-Polin, American-Israeli educator, author, and activist
  • Dr. Dahlia Scheindlin, American-Israeli political consultant, pollster, and journalist
  • Dr. Yakir Englander, activist-theologian-scholar serving as Senior National Director at the Israeli-American Council
  • Professor Elitzur Bar-Asher Siegal, Director of Middle Meets, an initiative to facilitate conversations between Israeli and Palestinian college-aged students.
  • Orly Erez-Likhovski, Director of the Israel Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism
  • Lesley Litman Ed.D., faculty member of the HUC-JIR School of Education and program manager of ARZA Canada’s Navigating Shared Space Israel curriculum

Rachel Goldberg-Polin will be joining us for a special conversation to discuss her upcoming book, When We See You Again, a searing portrait of a mother’s grief and strength in the wake of unthinkable tragedy. Anyone who registers at the benefactor level will receive a copy of her book!

This is an opportunity for those seeking deeper grounding, moral clarity, and leadership and educational tools for engaging Israel in a complex time through a Reform Movement lens!
