ACC to Sponsor Jewish Disability Advocacy Day 2020
The American Conference of Cantors will join the Jewish Federations of North America and the Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism on Capitol Hill for the 10th Annual Jewish Disability Advocacy Day on Tuesday, February 4, 2020. The ACC is once again pleased to be a sponsor of JDAD. Through our support, JDAD organizers will ensure that they have the resources necessary to make JDAD 2020 a banner year, and that registration costs are no barrier to participation for individuals with disabilities, their families, or interested students.
2020 is a historic year for disability rights—the 30th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the 45th anniversary of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), landmark legislation that for the first time in history proclaimed that every student is entitled to a free, appropriate public education regardless of disability. The JDAD 2020 program will highlight and commemorate these milestones, as well as look to the road ahead.
Registration opens September 5, 2019. Contact Aaron Kaufman of JFNA with questions and for sponsorship opportunities.
