RPEI Equitable Hiring Training for Reform Movement Educators and Clergy

In this training, offered by the Reform Pay Equity Initiative (RPEI) in partnership with the ARJE, ECE-RJ, CCAR and ACC, attendees will learn from leading experts how to create more equitable workplaces for themselves and their employees. This training will provide members with information about the importance of pay equity, implicit bias, equitable hiring practices, paid family and medical leave, and negotiation skills. In every expert presentation, the impact on employees will be explored. The program will also include time for the four professional groups to discuss pay equity in individual breakout spaces. This training is available at no cost, with a voluntary fee of $36 per attendee.
Presenters:
Fran Sepler, President of Sepler & Associates
Fran Sepler is best known for her pioneering work in harassment prevention and workplace investigations. She has developed techniques and protocols used by organizations throughout the United States to investigate complaints of workplace misconduct. She also wrote Finding the Facts: What Every Workplace Investigator Needs to Know, published in 2008. She has conducted over 1,000 workplace investigations, served as an expert witness regarding employer response to employee complaints, and provided anti-harassment, anti-bullying and implicit bias training for thousands of organizations. She has also conducted workplace climate assessments for myriad workplaces of all sizes. She has been the lead trainer for Ta’amod, which “seeks to help Jewish communal institutions and all who work, learn, or worship at them develop cultures of safety, respect, and equity.”
Dr. Amy Beacom, Founder and CEO of Center for Parental Leave Leadership
Dr. Beacom is the founder and CEO of the Center for Parental Leave Leadership, the first consultancy in the US to focus exclusively on parental leave. Drawing on over 25 years in executive leadership development and coaching, Amy consults with Fortune 100 companies, international organizations, and working parents, to transform the way our companies and country engage with the parental leave transition. Amy created the first evidence-based parental leave transition coaching model which sits behind the work that CPLL does, and distilled the coaching method into the first book to be written about parental leave, The Parental Leave Playbook: Ten Touchpoints to Transition Smoothly, Strengthen your Family, and Continue Growing your Career (Wiley, 2021). She has trained and supervised parental leave coaches both in the US and Australia and the manager-focused training program she created can be found in over 80 countries around the world. Amy holds a BA in Sociology/Anthropology with a minor in Gender Studies from Lewis and Clark College, an MA in Organizational Psychology from Columbia University, and a doctorate, also from Columbia University, combining Organizational Psychology, Women’s Leadership, Work/Family, and Applied Anthropology.
Professor Andrea Schneider
Professor Andrea Kupfer Schneider, JD, is an author, and a Professor of Law and Director of the Kukin Program for Conflict Resolution. Professor Schneider was the previous director of the nationally ranked ADR program at Marquette University Law School in Wisconsin, where she taught ADR, Negotiation, Ethics and International Conflict Resolution for over two decades. In addition to overseeing the ADR program, Professor Schneider was the inaugural director of the university’s Institute for Women’s Leadership. In 2009, Professor Schneider was awarded the Woman of the Year Award by the Wisconsin Law Journal and the Association for Women Lawyers. She was named the 2017 recipient of the ABA Section of Dispute Resolution Award for Outstanding Scholarly Work, the highest scholarly award given by the ABA in the field of dispute resolution.
