ACC Torah Dedication Project

"Write for yourselves this song, and teach it to all the children of Israel."

Deuteronomy 31:19

Our Jewish tradition teaches that, before even the world was created, there was Torah. For us, Torah is eternal, a timeless blueprint for better communities, better families, better lives, and a better world. As our Sages taught, “It is God’s love letter to the Jewish people.” It is no wonder that the words are so powerful, that we are so careful to learn Torah, to live Torah, and above all teach Torah to all those whose lives we have the opportunity to touch.  Download the complete brochure here.

The American Conference of Cantors has been honored with the gift of a Sefer Torah from Temple Kol Ami Emanu-El of Plantation, Florida in honor of their Cantor Mark Goldman. For the first time in our history, the American Conference of Cantors will now own our own Sefer Torah to be chanted and taught from at our sacred gatherings during conventions, meetings and other occasions.

Torah ScollWe are truly honored by the presentation of this donation, and we embark upon its reparation with reverence and zeal, to carry it with us whenever we convene, just as the Israelites did with the Ark of the Covenant.

This offers us the opportunity to consecrate ourselves as individuals and as colleague, dedicated to the pursuit of living and teaching Torah, seeing to it that this scroll is restored to its full beauty and wholeness. In this way, we bring honor and renewed life to its holy words.

This project to restore the scroll will result in its Rededication at our 2011 convention in Boston next June. We will celebrate and dance with the scroll just as we do on Simchat Torah.

Please join us by participating in the rededication of this Sefer Torah for the American Conference of Cantors. The funds raised from this endeavor will help to assure the financial success of the ACC long into the future. Our intent is to meet existing fundraising goals for the current year, and then contribute the maximum amount possible to the ACC Endowment Fund. Through this, we can rededicate ourselves to the pursuit of Torah and to all of the values that are contained in this scroll.

Different levels of recognition will be available for participants in this project. All participants will be listed in ACC publications throughout the year. Donors of $1,800 and higher will have their names inscribed on the inside of the Torah Cover as well as be part of a reception during the ACC Convention in Boston this coming June.

Below are the various opportunities for you to participate in this Torah project. Whether through dedicating a letter or a book, we urge you to be a part of this exciting opportunity. Our goal is 100% participation.

Torah is a Tree of Life – Let this Torah be our support, our strength, our wisdom, and our future. Please help make this become a reality.
