Voluntary Cancer Plan Insurance

ACC Colonial Life & Accident Cancer Insurance Plan


Effective October 1, 2008, we started offering the Colonial Cancer 1000 insurance plan, insured by Colonial Life & Accident (A Unum company) as a new association discounted benefit plan option. This plan is offered on an individual or family basis, and will be offered on a "guaranteed issue" basis to anyone who has been cancer treatment free for at least five years.

Features of Colonial's Cancer Insurance include:

  • Pays regardless of any other insurance you have.
  • Pays cash benefits for annual wellness/cancer screenings.
  • Designed to help with the many indirect costs of cancer, including lost wages, health plan deductibles or coinsurance, travel expenses to and from treatment centers, etc.
  • Pays a lump sum first-occurrence cash benefit ($2,000.), as well as supplemental cash benefits for inpatient and outpatient treatments, home care, skilled nursing care, etc.
  • Pays transportation and lodging benefits for your spouse or companion.

Annual rates start as low as $167 for an individual, $192 for one adult and dependent children, $282 for two adults with/without dependent children. Enrollment is available at this year's annual conference in Chicago.
